Most Beard products have DHT blockers which inhibit the hormone dihydrotestosterone. DHT blocking is great for scalp hair growth however facial hair is androgenic hair and DHT is the hormone that causes its growth so blocking DHT for the beard is hypothetically bad.
Many beard companies are either ignorant of this fact or complicit in the false marketing of these oils as beard growth facilitators.
